Today, I saw the news of Gmail's IMAP support.
IMAP( Internet Message Access Protocol ) can let you communicate with gmail's server and you can make changes with your mails as mails on gmail's server are applied changes immediately.
I've given up mail clients( outlook, thunderbird ... etc. ) many years, since their inconvenient occurs as I switch among 2 or more computers. Such as downloading your email with POP3, unsynchronized email as you downloaded them.
Hence, webmail service seems the only way to solve this problem. And gmail is indeed an outstanding mail service today. Now, may IMAP combine mail client application with webmail service perfectly ?
In my experience, IMAP with lots of mails will lower its performance and users have to wait "few seconds".
